Aberdeen Subsea Expo

Join us at one of the subsea industry’s most important meeting points.

A delegation from OffshoreCrew travelled to Aberdeen to gain the latest insights from the subsea sector. Our Crew Coordinator Andrew attended Subsea Expo together with Operations Manager Jim and Senior Recruiter Veronica. He shares a few reflections from the trip in this travel blog. During the trip, Andrew was also in charge of a “SnacpChat-takeover” for Maritim Karriere. You can see some of the content he shared, along with other pictures from the trip in the slideshow at the end of the article.

“We recently travelled from Kristiansand to Aberdeen to attend Subsea Expo 2026, one of the most important meeting points for the global subsea industry. As a major offshore and maritime hub, Aberdeen is always a valuable place to visit.

The evening before the exhibition, we attended the Subsea Expo Networking Reception, hosted in a stunning former Victorian Gothic church that has been transformed into a modern event venue. With live music and a relaxed atmosphere, it offered a great opportunity to connect with exhibitors, delegates, sponsors and organisers ahead of the conference.

Subsea Expo is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading subsea-focused events, attracting thousands of industry professionals each year. The exhibition and conference showcased the latest developments, innovations and insights across the subsea and wider underwater industries. It was particularly valuable to speak directly with exhibitors and attend panel discussions exploring the future of offshore wind, oil and gas, defence and related sectors.

A highlight was seeing the scale of the ROVs on display — equipment of that size and sophistication is not something you have the opportunity to experience up close every day. As a crew provider supporting the subsea sector, it is essential for us to continuously maintain and strengthen our industry knowledge.

During the trip, we also had the opportunity to visit several of our partners based in Aberdeen. These meetings and site visits were highly productive, and it was great to meet face to face with people we normally work with digitally in such a global industry. (Some exciting news from these meetings will be shared soon!)

Before heading home, we managed to fit in a visit to the spectacular Dunnottar Castle — a dramatic medieval ruin set on the coastline — followed by a lunch meeting overlooking the beautiful Stonehaven Harbour. A fitting way to round off a successful and rewarding trip.”
